Goodbye Pin Oak 2014Yes, once again we say goodbye to the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show. This year, instead of working for one individual competitor as it is often the case, I had the opportunity to spend some time second shooting several classes for Shawn McMillen Photography. It has been an interesting and fun experience - I am actually starting to like these second shooting jobs, and may try to pick up more of those in the months to come. Please support this horse show all year long by becoming a member of the Pin Oak Club: they really go above and beyond to provide support to Texas Children's Hospital. Never too late to start a new career!Well, no surprise that this words are coming from me... photographer at 16 (and still today), threat assessment specialist at 22, doctor at 30, and then who knows? My old North Hollywood friends call me the queen of sudden career changes... but it's not my eternal confusion that we are talking about. Meet Blitzkrieg - barn name Blitz. Former fox hunter, now enjoying show jumping and beginning a new career as an eventing horse. He was able to secure a 3rd place ribbon in his very first show, and we hope for many more. A walk in the parkMy friends know how much I love being outdoors. Just walking outside, cycling, all outdoor sports, hunting, shooting... and definitely a relaxing walk in a State park is one of my favorite activities. Of course, a walk in the park becomes kind of an adventure when your companion for the day is published nature photographer and writer Irene Amiet of Oceandance Photography. Irene is well known for her photographic books about Africa and the Texas Gulf Coast, and also for her art which is on permanent display at the Affaire D'Art gallery in Galveston, TX.
